Get online with the Boro
We are proud to be teaming up with Middlesbrough Football Club to host the ‘Get Online With The Boro’ event.
Anyone aged 50 and over is invited to the free drop-in event on Thursday 15th November from midday to 3pm.
As well as getting to grips with MFC’s online services and receiving one to one support with all aspects of digital technology, there will be a chance to look behind the scenes at the club’s dressing rooms, go pitchside and chat to famous faces from Boro’s past.
The drop-in session gives fans a chance to speak face-to-face with club staff, learn all you need to about getting online with Boro and have all of your web-based queries answered.
We will have laptops set up to go in the Riverside’s Media Suite, but with free WiFi on offer we are also encouraging fans to bring their own mobile phones and tablets too.
David Thomas, Digital Inclusion Officer at Ageing Better Middlesbrough who will be at the event to provide advice and support, said: “We are really excited to be working closely with Middlesbrough Football Club to help people feel more confident using digital technology.
“We know that many older people benefit from one to one support to help them use their phones and computers, which is why our regular Tea and Technology sessions are so popular, and why we want as many people as possible to come and see us at Get online with the Boro.
“I think it is important that people bring along the device they use at home as people tell us they find it difficult to transfer what they have learned from one device to another.
“Our aim at Ageing Better Middlesbrough is to reduce loneliness for people who are aged 50 and over, and we know how important digital technology is to connect people with friends and family, find things to do and help with day to day activities.”
If you need help with transport there is a shuttle bus running from The Hope Foundation to the stadium. Call Jeanette on 01642 061019 to book your space on the bus.
