Funding helps local organisation recruit new staff member

This is Zoe. She started volunteering at one of the art groups we funded, which is based at Community Ventures in Thorntree.

Having worked really hard and impressing during her time there, she is now a fully fledged member of staff, working one day a week for the organisation. We spoke to her about her role.

“The organisation wanted someone with an artistic background so I applied for the job. I’ve done production design for stage and screen so I felt I had the right skills. she said.

“I’m here to enhance my portfolio and help those in need. It’s really rewarding working with people in this community, especially those over 50”.

The organisations Community Development Manager Rachel Gault said: “Since Ageing Better Middlesbrough gave us the funding, we knew we needed someone with a passion for arts and crafts.

“Zoe has developed her confidence and grown in to the role really quickly. She inspires everyone who comes here and brings them out of their shell, so we really appreciate what she brings to the team”.

Well done Zoe, we’re really pleased your enjoying your job!
