Would you like to join our amazing team of helpers? You can get involved as much or as little as you wish and there is no obligation to do any more than you want to.
What can you do as a helper?
Some people go out to speak to other organisations or groups to tell them about Ageing Better Middlesbrough.
Others come along to our taster sessions and help us welcome new members and befriend anyone who looks a little nervous about meeting new people.
Some run taster sessions for us, and others come along to make the tea and coffee.
And we do appreciate each and every one of our helpers. We have a party each year to celebrate their achievements. And we have a dinner every month where our helpers and staff come together to catch up, enjoy some food, and find out the different opportunities to get involved that are coming up.
If you want to get involved in helping or speak to someone about it please call Joanne on 01642 061019.

Ways you can help:
Help at activities
We always need extra pairs of hands to meet and greet people, make teas and coffees and help us set up and tidy away after events and activities.

Ageing Better Middlesbrough Action Group
Ageing Better Middlesbrough Action Group members are older people who advise and support the programme. The group meets every second Wednesday of the month. Members attend regularly and take an active part in all aspects of Ageing Better Middlesbrough . Members have the opportunity to attend consultation events, external meetings and take on additional responsibilities for aspects of the programme.
The group is looking for people who are over 50, live in Middlesbrough and have a genuine interest in improving the lives of older people in the town. Experience in participating in meetings is not essential but would be useful.
