Bringing history to life

Our members enjoyed a walk through history with us this month.

“What a wonderful tour. I learnt a lot about Middlesbrough’s  history and information about buildings I’ve known all my life. A visit to the top of the Transporter topped it with wonderful views of Teesside. Linda took and organised the tour brilliantly including the ‘Health & Safety’ talk. Thank you very much and I recommend the tour to all members!”

Members joined us for a walk around St Hilda’s and discovered old Middlesbrough.

“This is the first thing I’ve been on with Ageing Better Middlesbrough. I love history. Really enjoyed the walk, the info and the company.”

After stopping at the Transporter Bridge for refreshments the group then had a ride in the glass lift to the top of the bridge.

Here’s what they said:

“Very interesting, brings history alive.”

“Well, this beats sitting in front of the telly, loved it all. Thank you.”

“Just wait until my daughter sees the picture of me at the top of the bridge, she won’t believe it. I’m so pleased I’ve done it.”

“Brilliant Linda. Thank you, and Norman for making the tour so interesting.”

“Magic.”

“Absolutely fantastic afternoon, thoroughly enjoyed going up in the lift to the top of the bridge. The views were marvelous. Thank you for an enjoyable walk Linda was excellent along with Norman.”
