Coronavirus and supporting people aged 50+ in Middlesbrough.

Age Friendly Middlesbrough

Our ambition is to make Middlesbrough an Age Friendly Community, where older people live happy and healthy lives.

We are gathering evidence of the age friendly work that is already happening so that we can apply to the World Health Organisation to join the international network of Age Friendly places.

Leading our vision to become Age Friendly is a partnership of people from Ageing Better Middlesbrough, Ageing Better Middlesbrough Action Group (ABMAG) – an action group of older people, Public Health and the National Lottery Community Fund.

Age Friendly Middlesbrough Fund –Applications for 2020 are now open!

We launched our Age Friendly Middlesbrough Fund to support community groups and individuals help older people live happy and healthy lives through awards of up to £1000.

We want to support community groups and individuals to make Middlesbrough more age friendly, and also to get back up and running after Covid-19 and the recent lockdown. The activity must be targeted at people who live in Middlesbrough and must benefit people aged 50 and over. We also welcome applications from intergenerational projects and groups.

The fund will be open from Tuesday 1st September and will close on Friday 30th October.
